Elon Musk’s Davos Remarks Accelerate Tesla Optimus Timeline, Hint at Robotaxi Expansion
Elon Musk's appearance at the Davos World Economic Forum sent Tesla shares higher as he unveiled an accelerated timeline for the Optimus humanoid robot program. The CEO now forecasts public sales by late 2025—a full year ahead of previous projections—with industrial deployment beginning this year. "We'll be selling humanoid robots to the public when we're confident about safety and functionality," Musk declared during a panel with BlackRock's Larry Fink.
The Tesla chief also teased significant expansion of the Cybercab robotaxi network, suggesting the service WOULD achieve "very widespread" deployment. While cryptocurrency markets remained unmentioned in Musk's remarks, the technological implications of advanced robotics and autonomous vehicles could have downstream effects on blockchain infrastructure demands.
